Bolstered by the return to action of U.S. National Team forward Abby Wambach, the Western New York Flash will begin an important two-game road trip against Sky Blue FC in Piscataway, N.J., tonight at 7 p.m.

Wambach has been sidelined since May 31 when she suffered a sprained lateral collateral ligament against the Houston Dash. She has four goals and one assist in six matches for WNY this season.

The Flash (7-10-3 for 24 points) is currently in sixth place in the nine-team National Women’s Soccer League with four games remaining on the regular season schedule. The top four teams in the standings make the playoffs. Sky Blue (4-8-7) is in seventh place.

After facing Sky Blue, the Flash will play on the road against the Boston Breakers at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, then return home for the final regular season home game against Sky Blue on Aug. 13.
