Wednesday: Day 9 of 20.

Highlights: Fred Jackson got a one-year contract extension, and linebacker Nigel Bradham was served by the NFL with a one-game suspension for violating the substance abuse policy.

Raindrops: For safety reasons, the team had a one-hour rain delay in the middle of practice due to lightning near St. John Fisher College.

Mr. Automatic: Kicker Dan Carpenter continued his outstanding training camp by making 7 of 8 field-goal tries, including a 49-yarder.

Schedule: The Bills practice at 8 a.m. today and 6 p.m. Friday before traveling to Canton, Ohio.
