One Clarence builder sells warehouse to another

A general contracting firm that is moving to a larger facility has sold its former headquarters in Clarence.

Picone Construction Corp. sold its 2.6-acre property at 8680 Main St. in Clarence – including a 12,000-square-foot office and warehouse facility – for $497,500 to 8680 Main St LLC, which is registered to Joseph Marciano of Amherst, owner of University Contracting of Buffalo.

Picone, a fourth-generation contractor, is expanding its operation, after buying a new facility at 10995 Main St., on 4.5 acres. It already built a new 12,000-square-foot warehouse at the new property, and plans to build additional warehouse space now that it has more room, said Vito Picone, broker at McGuire Development Co., who handled the deal for the contractor owned by his relatives.

Marciano could not be reached to comment on his own plans for the property, but Picone of McGuire said Marciano is starting a residential contracting firm.
