A day after Depew village officials heard public complaints about missing banners from light poles along village streets, additional banners were found and put up along French Road and Columbia Avenue – to complement many already hung along Terrace Boulevard.

Scott Wegst, a member of the former Friends of Depew organization that sold the banners three years ago, said Tuesday that the village’s electric department was busy working on another project and hadn’t had the time to complete hanging the banners. The remaining 15 banners were hung later Tuesday. Three or four were damaged last year from winds, Wegst said.

Donna Murawski of French Road was upset because her children paid $130 for one in honor of their late father, Robert Murawski Sr. ,and haven’t seen it hung in two years. Wegst said officials could not locate the Murawski banner, but said he has some extra blank ones at home and will get one made for her.
