A hit and run driver causes a power outage in Wilson

WILSON – Niagara County sheriff’s deputies were looking for the driver of a Dodge Dakota who struck a National Grid pole along the 200 block of McChesney Street and then left the scene at 8:15 p.m. Sunday.

The crash knocked the power pole down and it was found lying in the street, according to a sheriff report. Two residents on McChesney Street and a resident on Wood Streets reported damage to the siding on their houses where the cables were ripped out.

Power was also knocked out in that block on Sunday following the crash.
