Orchard Fresh Executive Chef Erin Horton won the 2014 Food Marketing Institute’s Supermarket Chef Showdown in the side dish/mini meals category. The annual recipe competition is designed specifically to celebrate and honor supermarket chefs and is presented by the Food Marketing Institute each year at the annual FMI convention. Horton’s winning recipe was Mediterranean chicken meatballs, based on the Mediterranean chicken sliders dish available at Orchard Fresh, 4050 N. Buffalo Road, Orchard Park.


Bernhardi & Lukasik attorney Stephen Brooks presented “Special Needs Trusts” at the “Top Estate Planning Techniques” held in Buffalo recently. The seminar was hosted by the National Business Institute and offered continuing education credits to attorneys, accountants and CPAs as well as other financial planners.

Unicell Body Co. has completed the new Ford Transit Aerocell. The company has been working on its new Ford Transit product for more than a year. Unicell will begin regular production of the Transit Aerocell as soon as the first Transit cutaway chassis arrives, expected in late August. The Ford Transit Aerocell will be available from all U.S. and Canadian Ford dealers this fall. Unicell Body is a manufacturer of one-piece fiber glass van bodies with offices in Buffalo and Toronto, as well as Truck Equipment divisions in Rochester and Schenectady.


The New York State Department of Health awarded a $376,000 grant to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center to support the launch of a program to support family members caring for Medicaid beneficiaries at home and in the community.
