Linwood Avenue is hosting Lilies on Linwood with a free concert and luminaria from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Tony Sisti Park, southeast corner of North and Franklin streets adjacent to the beginning of the Linwood Historic Preservation District. One thousand Asiatic and Oriental lilies were planted this spring in the park, public spaces and some residential gardens by the Linwood neighborhood association. The concert will feature vocalist/guitarist Geno McManus, Buffalo Guys and Six String Circus. Food trucks will be available. Bring lawn chairs.


Vibrant Batavia and the Landmark Society of Genesee County Home and Garden Tour will take place noon to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 2. Eleven gardens will be on the tour. Refreshments will be served. Some homeowners will also open their first floors. Tickets are $20 and available presale at these Batavia locations: Valle Jewelers, 21 Jackson St., and Harrington’s Produce, 5282 Clinton St. and GO ART!, 201 E Main St. Tickets will be available tour day at the Historic Batavia Cemetery, which the tour benefits. The 10th Annual Black Rock & Riverside Tour of Gardens of 50 gardens will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 2. The Starry Night Garden Tour, featuring 16 illuminated gardens, runs from 8 to 10 p.m. that evening. This year’s headquarters for maps, merchandise and raffle tickets: St. Mark’s & All Saints’ Church, 311 Ontario St., and Buffalo Religious Arts Center, 157 East St. Maps also are available ahead of time at area businesses or by calling Council Member Joe Golombek’s office at 851-5116.
