CONEWANGO – A Cherry Creek man is being held in Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail on first-degree robbery charges in the gunpoint robbery Thursday of an Amish shop on Chapman Road.

Michael S. Dybka, 22, was arrested in his home by Cattaraugus County sheriff deputies after the owner of the store provided deputies with a description of his car, deputies said.

At gunpoint, the store’s owner was tied up on the floor as Dybka emptied the cash register before fleeing, said deputies, adding that the owner had ventured outside the store to assist the accused bandit before being forced back into the store at gunpoint,

Also assisting were state police and Chautauqua County sheriff deputies.
