The Buffalo Fire Department is investigating a second Molotov cocktail attack outside of the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority apartment complex on the 1800 block of Kenmore Avenue since last week.

For the second time since Friday, somebody threw a Molotov cocktail, or a petrol bomb, at the building.

Buffalo Fire Department Chief Garnell Whitfield Jr. said no details on the ongoing investigation can yet be released.

“We’re trying to make sure we bring these people to justice,” he said. “We are actively pursuing some leads.”

Buffalo police and fire responded to a call just after 4 a.m. Thursday, after a Molotov cocktail struck the outside of the apartment complex. No injuries were reported.

Authorities say the outside of the building sustained damage and the investigation is ongoing.

On Friday, around 8:10 a.m., a Kenmore Avenue family narrowly escaped injury when a Molotov cocktail device was thrown through a bedroom window where a toddler was sleeping, according to Buffalo police reports.
