Man admits robbing same North Buffalo bank four times

A Buffalo man admitted this week that he robbed the same North Buffalo convenience store four times in nine months and that during one of the holdups, he threatened a clerk with a box cutter.

Kychene Venable, 42, of East Ferry Street, pleaded guilty Monday as charged to one count of first-degree robbery and three counts of third-degree robbery for the holdups at the 7-Eleven store at 2065 Delaware Ave. at Amherst Street.

He admitted taking money and cigarettes from the store on Oct 11, 2012; Dec. 31, 2012; March 7, 2013; and July 10, 2013.

Venable, who has 23 criminal convictions, faces maximum prison sentences of 25 years for first-degree robbery and seven years for third-degree robbery when he is sentenced Sept. 15 by State Supreme Court Justice Russell P. Buscaglia, according to Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III.

Venable is being held without bail.
