Rep. Brian Higgins, D-Buffalo, spoke from the House floor Wednesday to support the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station.

Higgins cited the upcoming construction of a new C-130 flight simulator and the proposed construction of a new Customs & Border Protection border patrol station as reasons to preserve the station.

Higgins also met with the Niagara Military Affairs Council in his Washington, D.C. office.

“The Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station is critical not only to Western New York but to our nation’s security,” Higgins said during his remarks.

The station employs more than 3,500 people and has an economic impacet of more than $200 million, Higgins said.
