A Grand Island woman was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and felony aggravated unlicensed operation just before midnight Monday on Grand Island after allegedly fighting with sheriff’s deputies in an attempt to avoid arrest, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies stopped Margaret Vucetic, 45, after receiving a complaint of an erratic driver on Whitehaven Road. Vucetic also faces charges of driving without an interlock device, resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration and disorderly conduct. Vucetic had a prior DWI conviction in February and her license had been revoked, authorities said.

She was being held in the Erie County Holding Center awaiting arraignment.

It was the 141st DWI arrest by sheriff’s deputies this year.
