Day Three Training Camp Capsule: Defense dominates

Tuesday: Day 3 of 20.

Highlight: Outside of a few nice runs, defense dominated the day. Would-be sacks were registered by Nickell Robey, Da’Norris Searcy, Nigel Bradham, Ikponmwosa Igbinosun and Colby Way, among others.

Quarterback competition? Jeff Tuel received some reps with the second team during Tuesday’s practice, and coach Doug Marrone declared the backup quarterback job behind EJ Manuel to be there for the taking between Tuel and Thad Lewis. “We’re trying to find out who it’s going to be and Jeff did a nice job in OTAs and he’s earned himself some more reps,” Marrone said.

Glenn, Branch still out: Left tackle Cordy Glenn and defensive tackle Alan Branch remain on the active/non-football illness list. Branch worked out off to the side Tuesday, but Glenn was not spotted. Marrone had no new information on when either player would be able to return.

Schedule: Practice is at 8 a.m. today. The team is off Thursday and returns to practice at 6 p.m. Friday. All available tickets for that practice have been distributed.

Parking: Fans are required to ride shuttles from the nearby lots at Mendon High School and Sutherland High School.
