LOCKPORT – A Lockport man was charged with stealing $400 from a cash register over two days at a Tops Market on South Transit Road in Lockport.

Albert S. Winters, 19, of South Street, was charged with petit larceny by Niagara County sheriff’s deputies just before 3 p.m. Sunday.

Winters, an employee of the store, was observed by a security camera taking the cash from a register inside the store at 6 p.m. Friday and at 5:37 p.m. Saturday. Winters was questioned by store security and admitted taking $400 from the register. He was then charged by deputies and released on an appearance ticket.
