Paterno “Pat” Dominguez Villanueva III, Tonawanda business owner

Dec. 7, 1966 – July 18, 2014

Paterno “Pat” Dominguez Villanueva III, an active member of the Town of Tonawanda business community and youth coach, died unexpectedly Friday in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda. He was 47.

Born in the Philippines, Mr. Villanueva moved to the United States with his family in 1975. He was a 1984 graduate of Kenmore East High School.

In 1999, he founded Sports Replay, a Niagara Falls Boulevard business that sold used and new sporting goods, He also was a partner in Paintball of Tonawanda.

Mr. Villanueva was considered a mentor to community youngsters, many whom he hired to work in his businesses, and provided financial sponsorships to hockey leagues as well as other community organizations.

He also coached youth roller and ice hockey, basketball, baseball and golf, and was an avid motorcyclist.

Survivors include his wife of 14 years, the former Oletha Gabrino; a daughter, Josephine Nicole; mother, Claire Dominguez; and two sisters, Annette Villanueva Sugg and Marie-Claire.

A memorial Mass will be offered at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Christopher Catholic Church, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda.
