The Erie County Law Enforcement Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation that assists federal, state and local investigative and law enforcement agencies by providing grants for special equipment and technical training, held its 2014 awards dinner recently, honoring the following: Deneen Anderson, officer, Erie County Department of Probation; Ronald J. Christopher, director, Medaille College Campus Public Safety; Robert Cornell, officer, Lancaster Police Department; Keith Kerl, detective, Lancaster Police Department; John C. Doscher, assistant district attorney, Erie County District Attorney’s Office; Mary Evans, homicide detective, Buffalo Police Department; Tracy A. Gast, special agent in charge, U.S. Secret Service; Kenneth Klos, officer, Town of Evans Police Department; Candace K. Vogel, assistant district attorney, Erie County District Attorney’s Office; Christopher S. Weber, senior investigator, New York State Police; and Mark Wipperman, undersheriff, Erie County Sheriff’s Office. A community Service Award went to National Fuel Gas Co.


Hunt Real Estate ERA welcomed Jesse Cimino, a licensed real estate agent, to its West Seneca branch. Cimino is a graduate of the University of Nevada.


AMDG Public Affairs, a locally based strategic public relations services provider, hired Craig Turner. Most recently, Turner served as vice president with the Buffalo Niagara Partnership.

Hodgson Russ State & Local Tax Practice partner Timothy P. Noonan, who is resident in the firm’s Buffalo office, presented “Legislative Update, Plus Hot Topics in Residency” recently at the Long Island Marriott, Uniondale. This session was the second in a series of eight Tax Series Roadshow seminars to be presented by Hodgson Russ’ tax attorneys throughout New York State. Noonan was joined by other Hodgson Russ attorney presenters from the firm’s New York City office.

Company Connections

Compu-Mail, a Grand Island-based direct marketing and commercial printing service provider, received the 2014 Certificate of Merit from the Printing Industries of America. The company was recognized in the category of Customized/Personalized/Variable-Data Digital Printing for its 2013 Thanksgiving card. This is Compu-Mail’s third consecutive win in the competition.


Artone LLC, a supplier of comprehensive commercial and institutional furniture solutions, recently purchased and renovated a larger facility, at 1089 Allen St., Jamestown. It also has added SteelGrain, a new division focused on the health care market. SteelGrain manufactures steel chairs sold by CoolTree, the sales and marketing arm for all health care products. The company is marking its 40th year of operations in Chautauqua County.


CUBRC Inc., Buffalo, was awarded a $1,248,935 federal contract for dynamic graph analytic framework and advanced technology demonstration from the U.S. Air Force Materiel Command in Rome.


The First Niagara Foundation is providing a $5,000 grant to fund Family STAR programs, which provide post-adoption services to adoptive parents, birth parents and adoptees. Family STAR is an initiative of Adoption STAR, but its services are not limited to Adoption STAR clients.
