Ben Reichert of East Amherst finished with an even-par 216 to earn second place at the New Era Junior Championship at River Oaks Golf Club on Grand Island. Michael VanDerLaan of Southbury, Conn., led the boys division from start to finish, winning with a 3-under-par 213. VanDerLaan had 13 birdies in the tournament, including five in Thursday’s final round.

Katie Kim of Riverwoods, Ill., took the champion title in the Girls Division of the New Era Junior Championship with a 2-over-par 218. Maren Cipolla of Lewiston was second with a 4-over-par 220. Chelsea Dantonio of Lancaster tied for third with a 10-over-par 226.

• Emily Doyle, who will be a freshman this fall at Niagara, tied for second place after the final round of the 85th New York State Women’s Amateur Golf Championship. She finished at 15 over after rounds of 74-76-78 for a 228 on the Dutchess Golf Club in Poughkeepsie. Doyle held a share of the lead after the first two rounds. Kit Creighton of Crag Burn placed fourth at 229. The winner was Christine Schmitt of Pittsford at 224, 11 over par.

• At the sixth NYS Women’s Mid-Amateur, Kim Kaul of Gowanda CC finished third, four shots off the pace. Kaul, who held a one-shot lead after the first two rounds, had a 79-81-84 for a 244. The winner, Joanna Beatty of Newburgh, was at 240.
