Buffalonian admits cocaine possession

A 35-year-old Buffalo man has pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 28 grams or more of crack cocaine, U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced Thursday.

Travis Birdsong, 35, faces the potential of 5-40 years in prison and a $5 million fine.

On June 5, 2013, the Drug Enforcement Administration searched Birdsong’s vehicle while he was inside and found crack cocaine. Later that day, police officers searched Birdsong’s home and found cocaine, scales and packaging materials.

A confidential informant also purchased cocaine from Birdsong on two occasions.
