Skies to clear in time for Artpark show

The “polar vortex” some feared could come to Buffalo this week – a rumor the National Weather Service shot down – has manifested in simply wet weather.

There is a 70 percent chance of precipitation to continue today until 1 p.m., at which point the odds of showers will drop to 10 percent, so those heading to the Megadeth concert at Artpark should be dry. But the safest bet would be bringing an umbrella and poncho.

The low temperature today, 55 degrees, is the low for the week.

Showers are predicted to continue through Wednesday before breaking from Thursday to Saturday.

Heavy rain immersed Taste of Buffalo goers Sunday and the Buffalo Bisons’ game was canceled. Showers are expected to return Sunday and Monday, but the Bisons will be on the road at Pawtucket.
