Plein Air is from the French expression meaning open air – to create a work of art outside, and this week the Carnegie Art Center is hosting the Canal Fest Plein Air Paintout, inviting artists to paint the beauty of the Tonawandas and submit their work for sale on Sunday at the Riviera Theatre, 67 Webster Street, North Tonawanda. Painting drop off is at 10 a.m.

As part of Canal Fest of the Tonawandas more than 2,000 people are expected to visit the Riviera Theatre on Sunday.
