Buffalo burglar draws more prison time in Cambria shotgun theft

LOCKPORT – Tedderick A. Gilmer, who is serving time in state prison for burglary and cocaine possession, received another sentence Monday from Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III.

Gilmer, 32, of Hastings Street, Buffalo, was sentenced to 3½ to seven years for third-degree burglary in connection with an October 2010 theft of two shotguns from a home on Human Road in Cambria. Gilmer wasn’t charged until Feb. 24 of this year, after a DNA test linked him to genetic material left on the gun safe in the Cambria home.

Gilmer’s previous 7½-year sentence expires in June 2018. Murphy ordered the new sentence to run concurrently, but it still could keep Gilmer in prison until 2021.
