A portion of Penora Street will close Monday, when the Erie County Department of Public Works begins a project to replace the Penora Street Bridge.

The street will be closed between Como Park Boulevard and Broadway. Completion is targeted for mid-November.

This week:

• A Village Board work session begins at 6 p.m. Monday, followed by a regular meeting at 7, in the Municipal Building, 5423 Broadway.

• The Hull Family Home & Farmstead will host a Pig’n Pint summer garden party from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hull House site, 5962 Genesee St. at Pavement Road. Tickets are $50 per person and include a full pig roast dinner, craft beer samplings and one full beverage; ordering online at www.hullfamilyhome.org or by calling 741-7032. All proceeds benefit the ongoing restoration and operation of the site.

• Garden enthusiasts: A self-guided tour of residential gardens throughout the village and town will be held Friday through Sunday. Friday’s hours are to be determined; tour hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Visit www.lancastervillage.org, and look under special events series, for updated information.
