LOCKPORT – A man who went on a burglary spree two months after graduating from drug court appears headed for prison after pleading guilty Thursday in Niagara County Court.
Brett M. Holt,, 24, of Rapids Road, Lockport, admitted to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree burglary. He owes $13,040 in total restitution to the three Town of Lockport homeowners whose homes he broke into.
“The fact that he successfully completed drug court and then did this almost means there’s no hope for him,” said Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas, who could send Holt to prison for up to seven years when he returns to court Sept. 18.
Holt specifically admitted to a June 4 break-in on Bartz Road, but there were others May 5 and 14, Deputy District Attorney Doreen M. Hoffmann said.
