Justin Timberlake certainly knows his sports, and knows his audience.

During the second half of his concert Wednesday night at First Niagara Center (photo gallery | review), he made his way to a bar on the floor, and raised a shot glass.

“We're going to do this one for Ralph Wilson.”

Wilson, the Buffalo Bills founder and owner and a Pro Football Hall of Famer, passed away on March 25.

Timberlake –- who has hosted the ESPYs and participated in celebrity all-star contests –- was making a long awaited appearance in Buffalo after he postponed his originally scheduled concert for February to Wednesday.

After an intermission, he performed on a stage that stretched across the floor seats. The slender catwalk-like stage slowly moved over the crowd, from the main stage end of the arena to the opposite end, where there were bars set up in a VIP floor area. Timberlake made his way to the bar, then to a small raised circular stage, then made a toast to the sold-out crowd (which included this reporter).

“Here’s to better late than never,” Timberlake said, raising a glass. “Y'all know I'm a big sports fan. So ... we're going to do this one for Ralph Wilson.”
