A section of Camp Road (Route 75) in Hamburg is closed temporarily for emergency maintenance to the CSX railroad bridge over the road.
The state Department of Transportation said the road is closed in both directions from Southwestern Boulevard (route 20) to St. Francis Drive. It could be closed for up to two hours.
The road closed about 1 p.m. after the railroad was working replacing the ties on the overpass, when stones from the railroad fell onto Camp Road, according to a witness.
A backhoe was brought in to clean up the stones from underneath the bridge, while Hamburg town Police, state DOT crews and volunteers from Lakeshore and Scranton fire companies were also on the scene.
