LOCKPORT – A Town of Lockport man was placed on five years’ probation in a domestic case Tuesday, clearing the way for his possible admission to court-supervised drug treatment if he pleads guilty to an open drug indictment.

Marcus A. Walton, 34, of Lincoln Place, drew probation from Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III for first-degree criminal contempt. He allegedly entered a former girlfriend’s apartment Feb. 7 and poured bleach on some of her clothes. He was to pay $641 in restitution.

Walton faces a separate indictment accusing him of making three cocaine sales in January in the Town of Lockport. He could be admitted to the judicial diversion program in that case now that he’s on probation in the other case. A prison sentence would have barred him from diversion, Assistant District Attorney Laura T. Bittner said.
