After an ideal July 4th weekend, who can complain about some showers and thunderstorms today?

Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain, the National Weather Service says. The high today will be near 76, and chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Rainfall will amount to between a quarter and half of an inch.

More showers and thunderstorms are likely tonight, mainly before 7 p.m. And the overnight low should be around 69, the weather service says, with the chance of precipitation at 60 percent.

More showers and thunderstorms are expected Tuesday morning, with some of the storms producing gusty winds and heavy rain. The high tomorrow will be near 79 and the chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Showers and thunderstorms also are forecast for Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
