The Elmwood Village Association will host discussions on the city’s Green Code in two meetings Thursday.

Residents, business owners and property owners are encouraged to attend and learn the differences between the current code, including the Elmwood Village Design Standards, and the Green Code.

City officials, and association board members and staff, will answer questions.

Thursday’s meetings will be held in Room 210 of Butler Library at Buffalo State College, 1300 Elmwood Ave.. The first presentation begins at 5:30 p.m., with a discussion at 6. The second presentation begins at 7 p.m. and a discussion will follow at 7:30.

Parking restrictions in all student, staff and faculty lots have been waived from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

This week:

• The Common Council will hold its pre-meeting caucus at 2 p.m. Monday in Room 1417 at City Hall.

• A special Council session will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the 2008 firing of Police Officer Cariol Horne with the Law Department. The meeting was called by Council President Darius G. Pridgen, who said recent incidents involving police officers led to his desire for more details.

• The Downtown Committee of the Buffalo Urban Development Corp. will meet at noon Tuesday in Room 901 at City Hall. The committee will review loan proposals for six downtown projects, including developer Mark Croce’s renovation of 505 Pearl St. for commercial and residential tenants, and the redevelopment of the former Phoenix Brewery, 835 Washington St., into apartments.

• A regular Council meeting begins at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers.

• The Water Board will meet at 8 a.m. Wednesday in Room 502 at City Hall.

• The Buffalo Sewer Authority’s annual meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the training room of the administration building at the Bird Island Wastewater Treatment Plant.

• A meeting of the Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency begins at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Room 201 at City Hall.

• The Buffalo City School District will host a District Comprehensive Improvement Plan follow-up community work session from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in P.S. 67, Discovery School, 911 Abbott Road. Parents and community members can review the 2014-15 plan, which has been revised based on stakeholder input and guidance from the state Education Department. • A Preservation Board meeting begins at 3 p.m. Thursday in Room 901 at City Hall.
