LOCKPORT – The annual Lockport in Bloom garden walk has turned 10 years old.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and next Sunday at about 23 homes and parks around the city, rain or shine.
Also, some participants will remain open for a Saturday evening garden walk from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
As usual, headquarters will be set up at the Kenan Center, 433 Locust St., although the table with maps and other information will be set up at the Taylor Theater entrance rather than at the Kenan House as in the past.
During the week leading up to the event, maps and brochures will be available at various local nurseries and businesses, including the Bower Insurance Agency, Niagara’s Choice Credit Union, City Hall, the Erie Canal Discovery Center, Badding Brothers Farm Market, Arbordale Nursery, Zehr’s on the Lake, LaRose’s, the Kenan Center, Hahn’s Ponds, Gi-Ro Cleaners, Tom’s Diner, the Shamus Restaurant, Heimiller Greenhouses, Faery’s Nursery in Ransomville, Mills Jewelers and Scapelliti’s Super Store.
Organizers said the garden fair, featuring vendors selling garden-related merchandise, has been canceled this year.
