FREDONIA – Applications for the best flower and vegetable gardens are available until Friday at Village Hall, in advance of Fredonia History Days July 18 and 19.

The gardens will be judged and awarded prizes during the upcoming event. Entries must have at least six different varieties and professionally landscaped gardens are prohibited. The contest is open to children and families.

Fredonia History Days also will feature horse-drawn trolley rides. with narration by village historian Todd Langworthy. The trolley rides will be held both days. There will be a classic car show at Barker Commons on July 18 and a Civil War encampment July 19.

Live music available both days includes a noon performance July 19 of the Fredtown Stompers, a jazz band formed at SUNY at Fredonia State.
