Maria Jose Rodriguez of Colombia won the United States Bowling Congress Queens tournament on Thursday night, topping Kelly Kulick by a single pin, 190-189, in Reno, Nev.

Kulick earned the matchup against top-seeded Rodriguez by defeating Missy Parkin (255-220), Jen Higgins (268-209) and Tannya Roumimper (248-137).

Liz Johnson of Cheektowaga just missed making the five-bowler stepladder finals. Johnson, the 2009 Queens winner, finished fourth in the rolloff to determine the final three slots in the finals. She shot 589 and lost to Higgins (731), Kulick (703) and Parkin (689).

Earlier, Johnson eliminated Carol Gianotti and Shannon O’Keefe in match play.
