Don’t worry.

The rain that’s falling across the region right now will be tapering off in the next couple of hours – in plenty of time for fireworks shows tonight.

“The rain should come to an end later this afternoon,” said Dave Zaff, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in Buffalo.

“We might see a brief break in the cloud cover,” Zaff said. There will be low cloud cover and possibly a shower or some sprinkles during the evening.

The Fourth of July is shaping up to be a gorgeous day, Zaff said, with clear skies and highs in the low 70s.

The conditions will be “fantastic” for fireworks shows Friday night.
