A Lackawanna man was sentenced Wednesday by Chief U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny to two years in federal prison.

Yasin Abdulla, 35, pleaded guilty in 2012 to conspiracy to distribute marijuana in connection with a case involving several other defendants.

Defense lawyer Patrick J. Brown said Abdulla has every intention of avoiding the conduct that got him in trouble.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy C. Lynch said Abdulla expressed the same sort of remorse during a previous court case and still went on to commit more crimes.

Abdulla’s sentencing is the result of investigation by the FBI, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, Customs and Border Protection and New York State Police.
