SILVER CREEK – The Hanover Town Board has unanimously approved a resolution to seek long-term financing for improvements at the sewage treatment plant.

At a special meeting Wednesday, board members authorized bond anticipation notes for a maximum of $5.36 million to fund the project.

Last week the board listened to comments at a special meeting to review the proposed improvements. “I think the comments we heard encourage us to vote favorably on this,” said Councilman Bernard Feldman Jr. Councilman Kevin O’Connell also urged board members to support the project.

Board members also authorized the purchase of three rotating biological contactor units used at the plant. They are $165,800 each.

The board also approved a declaration that the project would not have any significant environmental impact in accordance with the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act.
