The free, summer concert season kicks into gear on Friday in Amherst, and this year residents will have even more choices for live music.
The Village of Williamsville is introducing seven free shows during July and August at either Glen Park, located between Rock and Mill streets; Island Park, 5577 Main St.; or Garrison Park, 51 Garrison Road.
The concert series will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Tuesday between July 15 and Aug. 26 featuring Mark Weber Trio, Friends of Harmony and the Williamsville Community Band.
Here’s the schedule: July 15 at Glen Park, Mark Weber Trio; July 22 at Glen Park, Mark Weber Trio; July 29 at Island Park, Williamsville Community Band; Aug. 5 at Garrison Park, Guitars at Garrison Park; Aug. 12 at Glen Park, Mark Weber Trio; Aug. 19 at Island Park, Friends of Harmony; and Aug. 26 at Glen Park, Mark Weber Trio.
In case of rain, performances will be held at the Meeting House, 5658 Main St.
Meanwhile, the Amherst Youth & Recreation Department’s annual summer concert series begins Friday prior to the fireworks at Lake LaSalle at the University at Buffalo North Campus with 23 Skidoo performing from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. and the Erie County Wind Ensemble playing from 8:45 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The Pointless Brothers will perform from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on July 10 at Island Park during the Williamsville Old Home Days, but the rest of the concerts will begin at 7 p.m. at Basset Park, located at Klein and Youngs roads.
