Cattaraugus County motorist in intensive care at ECMC

LITTLE VALLEY – A 52-year-old Randolph man who was involved in a multi-vehicle crash in the Village of Little Valley Wednesday morning remained in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Buffalo’s Erie County Medical Center with serious head and chest injuries.

Scott A. Brown of Phillips Brook Road, was taken by Mercy Flight to the Buffalo hospital after the accident in the 500 block of Rock City Street, (State Route 353) about 7:10 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, Brown was heading south on Rock City Street when he rear-ended a pickup truck driven by Brock O. Doberstein, 18, of Little Valley, and then drove into the northbound lanes and crashed head-on into a pickup truck driven by William T. Andrews of Salamanca. Brown was not wearing a seat belt, investigators said.

The two other drivers were treated at the scene and released.

Sheriff’s deputies were assisted at the crash scene by crews from the Little Valley Fire Department, the Salamanca City Fire Department and Mercy Flight.
