NIAGARA FALLS – Niagara County sheriff’s deputies seized a roll of money wrapped in a rubber band and prescription narcotics following a traffic stop Monday in the 4200 block of Hyde Park Boulevard.
Leon R. Williams, 35, of Hope Boulevard, was stopped at 4:45 p.m. for having non-transparent side windows on his vehicle, an equipment violation; and additionally charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. The Niagara County Drug Task Force was contacted and ordered the seizure of the cash.
Deputies said during the stop Williams admitted to having Hydrocodone under the passenger seat, but did not have the proper container. Deputies found a roll of cash – a total of $3,378, that was in the door of the vehicle. Williams told deputies he was not employed.
