Lee cites film’s truths

“Do The Right Thing” is a film that told truths, director/producer/writer/actor Spike Lee said Sunday at a 25th anniversary screening of the film at BAM in Fort Greene.

Some of those truths just weren’t known until recently.

“We had the crystal ball, we predicted what would happen. We predicted it. LA uprising, Rodney King verdict, we predicted it. John Savage’s character, that Larry Bird jersey, Boston Celtics shirt, stepping on Radio Raheem, I mean stepping on Buggin’ Out’s Air Jordans, we predicted gentrification.”

In other news, Lee’s wife Tonya Lewis Lee told New York Magazine that he is to blame, partially, for the gentrification of Fort Greene and Brooklyn.

Williams does rehab refresher

Robin Williams is reconnecting with the 12-step program during a brief stay at a Minnesota facility.

A spokeswoman for the 62-year-old actor-comedian says Williams planned the visit as a respite to recharge after more than 18 straight months of work.

Publicist Mara Buxbaum said Williams is “taking the opportunity to fine-tune and focus on his continued commitment, of which he remains extremely proud.”

Williams has been open about the challenges of maintaining sobriety. He sought treatment in 2006 when he relapsed and returned to drinking after 20 years.

Williams stars in the CBS series “The Crazy Ones” and the film “The Angriest Man in Brooklyn,” which was released in May. He has several other projects in the works, including another installment of “Night at the Museum.”

Reed left estate to wife, sister

Lou Reed’s estate is worth over $20 million, and it’s bequeathed to his wife – musician Laurie Anderson – and his sister.

Reed’s executors value musical rights and various other assets in his estate at $20.3 million in court papers filed Monday in Manhattan.

The sum doesn’t include the East Hampton, New York, home Reed bought for about $1.5 million in 2009 or his Manhattan apartment in a building where apartments sell for millions. The filing is part of the legal follow-up to Reed’s will, filed in November.

The Velvet Underground frontman and “Walk on the Wild Side” singer died Oct. 27 of complications from a liver transplant. He was 71 and had no children.

People names hottest bachelor

Joe Manganiello is sexy and single.

People magazine has crowned him Hollywood’s hottest bachelor.

“I am part Sicilian,” he told the magazine. “I am passionate. I am a hot-blooded person. If you don’t like spicy, then maybe I’m not for you.”

The “True Blood” hunk, who announced his split from girlfriend Bridget Peters in March, says he’s “at my best when I have someone to wake up next to.”

And that lady had better be, well, scent-sational, the 37-year-old said.

“I’m big into smell,” Manganiello said. “It’s funny I got cast as a werewolf. There’s something about the smell on that part of a woman’s neck where it meets the jaw. Ahhhh! It’s heaven.”
