NEWFANE – A Newfane man walking away from a one-motorcycle property damage accident was charged with drunken driving at 1:36 a.m. Monday at Ide and West Creek roads.

Sean C. Milczarski, 32, of Caledonia Street, was charged by Niagara County sheriff’s deputies with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and speed not reasonable. He was additionally charged with felony DWI for having a previous drunken driving conviction on Sept. 24, 2009.

Milczarski was stopped as he walked along West Creek Road. He complained of back and chest pain and told deputies that he crashed because he swerved to avoid an animal and had been walking home. He said he “had a couple of beers.”
