TOWN OF LOCKPORT – A Grand Island woman is accused of forging signatures on checks from the South Transit Fire Hall auction fund and pocketing $2,000 for personal use, state police said.

Jackie L. Briggs, 39, was charged Monday with grand larceny after a two-month investigation, police said. Investigators said six checks from the auction fund dating back to 2011 were made payable to her. Briggs, police said, admitted to forging signatures on four checks and using the money for personal use.
