Three Grammys, 14 CMAs, a Grand Ole Opry membership, 22 No. 1 singles and three ASCAP Country Music Artist of the Year awards. Any questions?
While it is more than true that popularity does not always equate with musical integrity, in the case of Brad Paisley, the twain shall indeed meet, and often. As an artist capable of marrying traditional country musical values with the more pop- and rock-inflected sounds of the form popular with contemporary fans, Paisley stands at the head of the class. The fact that he is a virtuoso guitarist – he’s even penned a tome dedicated to his love for the guitar, dubbed “Diary of A Player” – lends additional credence to a career that has quite literally gone from strength to strength across the span of some 15 years.
Paisley is the king of summer country package tours, and this year is no exception. He’s gathered together a handful of his favorite young country artists – Randy Houser, Leah Turner, Charlie Worsham and Dee Jay Silver – and christened the whole mega-ticket the Country Nation World Tour. That tour stops by the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Tickets are $45.60 to $65.50 for reserved seating, and $30.50 for general admission on the lawn (Ticketmaster).
