Man tells judge he has changed his life

LOCKPORT – A former Lockport man who appeared in Niagara County Court Wednesday on a charge of selling cocaine told the judge he has “lined things up now” and gave her a list of changes he had made including getting a job, moving to North Tonawanda, and a fiancee with a baby on the way.

Cedric L. Elias, 32, pleaded guilty on April 3 to fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance for selling cocaine in the Town of Lockport on June 7. Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas agreed to grant him six months of interim probation to see if these changes are really true. A return court date was set for Jan. 7 and she said how he does in the next six months will determine his final sentence.

Elias was tearful as he told Farkas, “I don’t want to lose it and start all over again.”
