A Lisbon Avenue man was charged with felony assault linked to the two-hour standoff at his second-floor University District apartment Monday afternoon.

Ronald Daniels, 26, is being held on criminal posession of a weapon, unlawful imprisonment and second-degree assault.

The standoff, which began about 1 p.m., drew the Buffalo Police SWAT and Hostage Management teams. The incident came to an end about 3 p.m. with Daniels’ surrender, police said.

A search of the apartment led to the recovery of a firearm, said police, adding that Daniels’ girlfriend, who had left the flat before police arrived, confirmed the suspect had assaulted her during an argument.
