Lockport Elks keep raising money for Camp Happiness

LOCKPORT – Even though Camp Happiness, the Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara camp for children with intellectual and other disabilities, is over for this year, Lockport Elks Lodge 41 is continuing its year-round fund-raising efforts on the camp’s behalf.

The annual “Handful of Happiness” raffle is to be held Thursday, and $5 tickets are still available by calling 812-2487. They also may be purchased at any of the Opportunities Unlimited offices in the Town of Niagara, Wheatfield and Lockport.

A plastic duck race to benefit Camp Happiness is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 30 at the North Adam Street Bridge over the Erie Canal in Lockport. Ducks cost $5 each and will be for sale at several Lockport Car Cruise nights beginning Monday at the Lockport Optimst Club Arts and Crafts Show Saturday and Sunday, and on many Saturdays at the Lockport Community Market.
