A 48-year-old Victoria Street man allegedly threatened police officers with a steak knife and was arrested in the parking lot of the Commodore Perry Homes at 124 Fulton Street about 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Lorenzo Newman was found by officers on the sixth floor of the building where he allegedly pulled out a steak knife, according to a police report. Chased down the stairs, he was arrested in the parking lot where officers reported recovering the steak knife. Newman was charged with attempted felony assault, criminal possession of a knife and criminal trespass for being in the apartment building.
