SANBORN – A man was found stopped in the middle of a grassy area near a playground on Buffalo Street next to the Sanborn Fire Department at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, slumped over the wheel with his foot on the brake and the vehicle still in drive.

Niagara County sheriff’s deputies said the driver, Jeffrey J. Jordan, 43, of Dorwood Park, Ransomville, appeared intoxicated. A preliminary test registered a blood alcohol level of 0.21 percent, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent, according to a patrol report.

Jordan was awakened and advised to put the vehicle in park. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, failure to use designated lane, moving from a lane unsafely, no seat belt and failure to take a breath test.
