WARSAW – A 59-year-old Batavia woman was ticketed Thursday after she allegedly lost control of her car while pulling into a restaurant parking space at a shopping plaza along State Route 19 in North Warsaw and struck a bus with no passengers on the state roadway.

Alfreda M. Sawdey was ticketed by Wyoming County sheriff deputies for failure to yield the right of way. She said she lost control of her vehicle and drove over a median before hitting the bus.

Both the bus, whose driver was not hurt, and Sawdey’s car were significantly damaged and were towed from the scene. Sawdey and her passenger both complained of some minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene by a Warsaw Ambulance crew. Sawdey faces proceedings in Warsaw Town Court July 14.
