Protect your identity at the annual “Shred It” fundraiser

LEWISTON – The Lewiston/Niagara-on-the-Lake Rotary Club will hold its second annual “Shred It” event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the main parking lot of Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, 5300 Military Road.

The fundraiser allows residents to have their personal papers shredded at a fraction of the cost over retail establishments and also raise funds for the Maternity Department of Mount St. Mary’s Hospital and other organizations supported by the Lewiston/Niagara-on-the-Lake Rotary Club.

The donation is $10 per banker’s box, which is 15x12x10 inches, or $25 for three boxes. Residents can drive up and watch as documents such as bank statements, old insurance policies, medical documents and other personal/financial documents, are professionally shredded.

The club meets every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Water Street Landing in the Village of Lewiston. Community members are always welcome. For information on becoming a member contact Ron at 870-1307.
