Grand Island man charged with felony DWI

A Grand Island man was charged with obstructing government administration, felony DWI and several traffic infractions, including having an open container of alcohol in his car, in Grant Island at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Michael A. Siminski, 32, had a loud muffler and was driving about 70 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone when he passed an Erie County Sheriff’s deputy. Siminski increased his speed as the deputy followed him.

Siminski pulled into his driveway, exited his vehicle and walked into his house though he had been ordered to return. When back-up arrived on scene, two deputies were able to get Siminski to open his front door.

This was the Sheriff’s Road Patrol’s 111th DWI arrest in 2014.
