Moe., that lil’ old jam band from Buffalo, will turn 25 in 2015. That’s a major milestone for the band, particularly when you consider the fact that, for the majority of its existence, the group has been the very definition of an indie band – a gang of musician-friends not given to following trends and committed to plowing their own furrow.
That Moe. can preside over its own yearly music festival, Moe.Down; that the band continues to command a huge fan base, earned through decades of hard touring; and that the just-released 11th studio album, “No Guts, No Glory,” is packed with interesting, eclectic and distinct music – all of this bodes well for Moe. making it another 25 years.
A Moe. homecoming will take place starting at 6 p.m. Thursday at Canalside. East Coast jam band pioneers Conehead Buddha will open. Admission is free.
